We're coming (excuse the pun) to the end of October 2024. it's been a positive month for my writing.
I've offered Vampire's key out as a freebie to anyone that is interested, and so far 44 copies have been picked up. I'm pleased with that, though I'd hoped it would generate a few more (or lots) of sales for it's sequel Vampire's Fire, but it's early days for this series and I am planning on keeping Vampire's Fire at a reduced rate during NOvember (another Keyholding/male chastity month).
Katie's Server is also price dropped throughout October/Locktober, but that's had no effect and I have sold zero of these, although I have not promoted it as much as I have Vampire's Key or Vampire's Fire.
Reflection
I'm not convinced that giving books away for free is the way to go, I am trying to switch from a day job to writing as my path through life and offering books for free might be a good lure to expand my audience, but if it leads to no further book sales or book reviews, then I question the purpose of doing this.
Learner
I keep saying this, but I'm still learning marketing and promotion and this year is the first time I have offered my books for free. I'll have to meditate before I decide where I go next with marketing.
The Countess Novella
The Sisters of Annis novella, The Countess, which is set in the infamous Vampire Nightclub where the Women are clothed and the men are naked, is currently on hold. That's fine, I'm not happy with some of the character development so a pause is a good plan. It is pretty much drafted, allowing for a final and very hot chapter to be written, and an epilogue to be added (I like epilogues on my novellas so that's all I am going to say about that!). It will sit for a while, which is a good plan until I return to it with fresh eyes.
Book 3
I have thus been drawn, instinctively I guess, to recommence work on the series books. I already know the name of book 3 (but it's a secret), and for now it will just be 'book 3'. This picks up immediately after the events in Vampire's Fire (which was set about a year after Vampire's Key).
Lilly, Lady Mortimer, Adrian and Gabriela and so many other familiar faces will be returning, along with the expansion of the world to incorporate the Sisters of the Eternal Night...
Meditation and More
As for me, I am still swinging back and forth between positive thinking and dark low moods. My overall goal is to refine my thinking and meditations so that I am drawing far more positive vibes to myself and everyone that I encounter. I want to help as many people as I can in life and thus my meditations include others in small ways that I hope will make their lives a little better.
